Coding a BMW car equipped with Anti-Theft alarm ( Option code: S302A)

Recently, I just coded a F46 equipped with BMW ANTI-THEFT ALARM WITH REMOTE CONTROL (VO code 302). Right after I finished with the coding, my pal locked the car and the car alarm was triggered. This surprises me as I didn't expect the alarm to sound when the car is lock and suspect that the coding has screwed it up. I went on to revert back all the changes but the alarm still goes off once the car is locked.

After fumbling for an hour, it was discovered that the OBD cable has to be DETACHED from the socket before the car can lock without triggering the alarm. This is a new lesson that I learned today and I hope you will find it useful to know!

  1. hi
does that mean that if i left a WIFI OBD adaptor connected to it 24/7 it will trigger the alarm too ?
i not sure if my 216d made FEB 2017 from PML has factory alarm or not...how to know ?

    1. Alarm will be triggered when you lock your car with OBD cable still attached to it. PML cars mostly do not come with Alarm. Easiest to check is to use your VIN and check your car configuration online and look for "S302A" THEFT ALARM WITH REMOTE CONTROL.

    2. checked bimvin yes no s302a optioned thanks for the headup. guess the wifi OBD adaptor which is on my way can be use now. will most likely be using that together with BimmerCode apps to enable simple options.

    3. You only need E-Sys to do wonders if you are an IT inclined folks. Feedback from drivers who has coded 2TB is that the engine RPM stays longer and quicker switching between the gears. Guess you really need to code it yourself or look for me to see whether it's true!

  2. hi
sorry to add another comment....i am new to BMW and coding as this is my 1st 216d, given how EX car is in Singapore, what is the chance that i might screw up totally? if that happened towed back to PML and warranty will be voided?

    1. Screwing it up totally is not possible as long as you know what you are doing. Make sure you have the latest software to avoid any unforeseen issues. Get it from tokenmaster.

    1. No, I won't be showing that since I am also learning from others and the wiring works looks daunting to me! F45/F46 is not pre-wired with alarm option.
